The most important part of any dental health care plan is keeping regular checkups and teeth cleanings in our office. We use these preventive appointments to screen for common oral health conditions in their earliest stages when patients may not experience noticeable symptoms, as well as cancer screenings Cleanings, remove plaque and tartar buildup that would not be possible with regular brushing and flossing. Additionally, these appointments give our dentists the opportunity to partner with patients to develop a personalized plan for ongoing oral health and hygiene.

Children’s Dentistry

We always love having the chance to work with young patients. We provide many treatments that are uniquely suited to improving the development of healthy smiles for kids. This includes dental sealants to protect teeth from decay, sportsguards for young athletes, and fluoride treatments. Most importantly, we strive to make our young patients comfortable with the dental office as being a natural part of their life. Sealants, fluoride treatments, sports guards as well as home care instruction protect their teeth into their adult life. Making the visit a fun experience makes this all work

Dental Sealants

As the name may suggest, dental sealants are used to seal out potentially damaging bacteria, plaque, and tartar. We apply sealant material in liquid form onto the surfaces of teeth. A curing light is used to harden the sealants into position. We’ll recommend dental sealants for younger patients who are learning to care for their smiles, with deep pits and grooves that make thoroughly cleaning teeth at home difficult, and for adults who experience frequent decay. A single dental sealant application will remain in place for several years with proper care.

TMJ Dysfunction Therapy

The temporomandibular joints are the small tissues that connect the jaw to the skull bone. TMJ dysfunction, sometimes referred to as TMJ or TMD can occur due to excessive strain or trauma. The result can be painful jaw motion, clicking and grinding sounds when opening and closing the mouth, and difficulty or inability to extend the jaw. We offer a variety of treatments to relieve unnecessary jaw joint pressure and renew oral health for TMD sufferers.

Nightguards for Bruxism

If you grind or clench your teeth at night, it’s important to seek treatment for this oral health condition known as bruxism right away. Left untreated, bruxism can cause excessive dental wear, chips, cracks, and other damage. While it may seem difficult to stop a habit that occurs during sleep, our team offers a simple, effective solution. Nightguards are custom crafted and comfortable. They place a physical barrier between the rows of teeth to protect the smile from wear.

Mouthguards/Sportsguards

[There are numerous mouthguards available in sporting goods stores, but this one size fits all solutions often feel bulky or uncomfortable. We offer custom crafted sportsguards for our patients. These personalized guards are much more comfortable allowing athletes to breathe easily and providing superior protection for their smiles.] This also means patients with customized sportsguards are more likely to wear them regularly. Our custom crafted sportsguards are much more comfortable than bulky and uncomfortable “boil & bite” store guards allowing easier breathing & superior protection for your smiles

Oral Cancer Screenings

We conduct oral cancer screenings for every patient we treat. Tobacco use significantly increases the risk of oral cancer, even smokeless tobacco, but even those patients who don’t use tobacco or engage in any other high-risk behaviors are diagnosed with oral cancer. In many cases, those patients who don’t engage in high-risk behaviors are diagnosed in a very late stage of oral cancer. That’s

Fluoride Treatment

Fluoride treatments aren’t necessary for all patients, but they do improve the strength of enamel for patients who are at greater risk for tooth decay. This includes young patients who are still learning to care for their smiles and adults who have experienced frequent tooth decay. Topical fluoride is applied during each six-month dental checkup. We simply paint a coating of fluoride onto the surfaces of teeth. Patients will need to forego eating and drinking for at least half an hour to allow the fluoride to be absorbed into the tooth enamel.
